Rob Markle

Rob Markle has over 26 years of experience in the Fire and Explosion protection industry starting in 1984 with the first 17 working for a distributor in Illinois being responsible for engineering, installation and maintenance of FENWAL Special Hazard Systems.

For the last 9 years Rob has been with the FENWAL Industrial Explosion Protection Group working as a Sales Engineer/Regional Manager. Rob has a mechanical design technology degree, is a member of NFPA and continues to reside in Illinois.

Matt Ungashick

Matt Ungashick is a second generation owner and Regional Sales Manager at Shick USA. After receiving his degree from the University of Missouri, he became an outside manufacturer’s representative in St Louis, covering many industries for a variety of manufacturers. Five years later, Matt moved to Kansas City to start his career as a project manager at Shick USA. His industry experience and knowledge of Shick led him to his current position as the regional sales manager for the western half of the United States. Twenty years of designing and managing systems for many industries, gives Matt vast experience to Shick’s customers. Today, he serves on many industry boards and associations, while continuing his career designing and selling automated ingredient systems to the process industry.

Jack Hilbert

Jack Hilbert received his BS in Mechanical Engineering & MS Engineering Science Degree from Penn State University. Since 1980, Jack is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Pennsylvania. Formerly of Fuller Bulk Handling Corporation, Jack has 32 years professional experience in bulk material handling systems and environmental products.

Henning Kreis

Henning Kreis studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kassel and graduated in 1996. He Joined Henschel in 1999 and has been in testing, design and application engineering for mixers since then. Currently, he is director of the Henschel Mixer Technology Center and heads Zeppelin’s R&D activities in this field.

Joseph Marinelli

Joseph Marinelli is President of the corporation that was established in 1997. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeast University. Joe has been providing consulting services since 1972, as a former consultant with Jenike & Johanson, Inc. He has years of experience testing solids plus designing bins and feeders for reliable flow. Joe is a member of the American Society Testing Materials, ASTM, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME, and American Institute of Chemical Engineers, AlChE.

As a Principal and Director of Bulk Solids Handling for a firm that manufactured bulk solids feeders, Joe was responsible for developing test programs, evaluating test results, designing bins and feeders and consulting on various solids handling projects. In addition, he was responsible for marketing their equipment, services and expertise.

James A. Schak

James A. Schak is the National Sales Manager of the Chem Systems group with GEA Process Engineering (fka Niro Inc.), the leading manufacturer of spray dryers. Jim has more than 30 years of experience in direct and indirect dryers. He has worked in process and project design for several major dryer manufacturers. He has presented many papers on closed cycle drying, spray drying of flavors , agglomeration and drying of heat-sensitive materials. Jim is the instructor for the University of Wisconsin “Drying Technology” Course. He holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from NJIT.

Dr. Harald Wilms

Dr. Harald Wilms studied process technology at the TU Braunschweig, Germany, where he obtained his Ph.D. in 1984. Since then he has been working with Zeppelin in various positions in technology, sales, and business development. From 1998 to 2000 he was in charge of setting up Zeppelin’s operation in Houston. Currently he is in charge of Business Development and Technology. He is a member of the Management Board of Zeppelin Systems GmbH in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

He has been a lecturer in several post-graduate courses, has given many technical presentations, and has written numerous papers on flow properties, silos, blenders, conveying systems, and logistic concepts.

Hans Schneider

Hans Schneider studied Mechanical Engineering and Process Technology at the University of Kaiserslautern, specializing in solids handling. He joined Zeppelin in 1998 for testing and development of bulk solids handling systems and then was in charge of Zeppelin’s process technology department. He was directly involved in the development of degassing projects. Currently he is in charge of Zeppelin’s silo sales business.

Gerry Kaelin, after graduating with a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Boston College, Mr. Kaelin has worked in the pollution industry for over 20 years and is a co-owner of FilterSense.

William J Stevenson

William J Stevenson, VP Engineering, CV Technology Inc, West Palm Beach, Florida, is a recognized authority in the field of dust explosion protection in the process industries. He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association. Mr. Stevenson is a member of the NFPA Technical Committee on Explosion Protection Systems, which encompasses NFPA 68 Guide for Venting Deflagrations; and NFPA 69 Standard on Explosion Prevention Systems. Mr. Stevenson also is a member of the NFPA Technical Committee on Handling and Conveying of Dusts, Vapors, and Gases, which encompasses NFPA 650 Standard for Pneumatic Conveying Systems for Handling Combustible Particulate Solids; NFPA 654 Standard for the Prevention of Fire and Dust Explosions from the Manufacturing, Processing, and Handling of Combustible Particulate Solids; NFPA 655 Standard for Prevention of Sulfur Fires and Explosions; and NFPA 91 Standard for Exhaust Systems for Air Conveying of Vapors, Gases, Mists, and Noncombustible Particulate Solids.

Mr. Stevenson has over 38 years of engineering experience and is responsible for all aspects of engineering for CV Technology Incorporated. CV Technology is focused exclusively on the problem of dust explosions and fires and how to prevent and mitigate them. Mr. Stevenson’s responsibilities encompass design and specification for dust explosion and related fire protection systems based on conducting a Risk Analysis for each process being addressed. Mr Stevenson’s analyses and recommendations have proven to be effective, with no related losses for those who have followed them. A wide variety of industry segments have been served including food processing, specialty chemical, pharmaceutical, wastewater treatment, grain, transportation, wood products, tobacco, and power-generation.

In addition to conducting risk analyses for industry, Mr. Stevenson has authored several papers on dust explosion and related fire published in such periodicals as Process Safety Progress, Chemical Processing, Plant Engineering, Powder and Bulk Engineering, and Food Technology. Additionally, his work has been recognized by others with articles published in Occupational Health & Safety, Kiplinger Letter, US Industry Today, Engineered Wood Journal, Industrial Fire World, Beverage World, Sothern Textile News, Modern Woodworking, Pulp & Paper Canada, and many more. Mr. Stevenson has been a featured speaker at such venues as the AlChE National Meeting, and the Powder & Bulk Solids Conference/Exhibition. He has also lectured extensively throughout North America to a wide range of professional organizations and groups.

Robert (Bob) Reischi

Robert (Bob) Reischi has a BS in Industrial Technology from University of Wisconsin-Stout, in 1983. Robert has been a practicing field technician, project engineer, process designer, and application engineer serving the bulk solids handling industry since 1984. He is currently with Coperion Corpoation since 1988 previously know as Buss America, Inc and Waeschle inc.

Kevin Sheddrick

Kevin Sheddrick, PE is employed by Tank Connection in Parsons, KS, a world leader in the design, manufacture and installation of dry bulk storage tanks. Kevin is a past committee member of NFPA 68 and has been structurally designing dry bulk storage tanks for 20 years.

Shelton R. Denton

Shelton R. Denton is a Sales Engineer at Pelletron Corporation in Lancaster, Pa. Prior to joining Pelletron, Shelton held several corporate engineering and management positions in agricultural, food and mineral industries. Most notably he served as General Manager of dark air-cured tobacco services for Universal Corporation in Lancaster, Pa.

In his role at Pelletron, Shelton provides technical sales and service to the plastics, pharmaceutical, mineral and food industries. Shelton’s sales territory covers the majority of the global market in these business segments.

Mr. Denton earned a B. S. (Mechanical Engineering) from North Carolina State University.
